BIOGRAPHY
Matthew Underwood brings his irresistible charm and talent to Nickelodeon’s new series “Zoey 101,”
which premiered earlier this year. On the show, Matthew stars alongside Jamie Lynn Spears as
‘Logan,’ a teenage heartthrob and scheming jock determined to make trouble when his all-boys
preparatory school becomes co-ed. Matthew is currently filming the second season for the show.
Leaving a very successful print modeling career in his native Florida, Matthew packed his bags and
moved to Los Angeles, where he immediately landed a role on the pilot for FOX’s “Method & Red.” He
can also be seen in the pilot episode for the Information Television Network’s “E-Venture Kids”
program, which aired in May of 2005, across the nation.
Lately, Matthew has completed a number of voiceover roles. In the pilot for the Cartoon Network’s
animated series “Wonder Realm,” Matthew plays ‘Daniel,’ a teenage superhero, alongside Daryl
Sabara (Spy Kids). He also recently completed work on the upcoming Disney animated feature My
Neighbors the Yamadas. He can also be seen in the 50th Anniversary Looney Toons DVD due in
stores this fall.
There has never been a time in his young life when Matthew has not strived to perform in front of an
audience. He began modeling at six months in talent competitions and was modeling for print and
runway and dancing by age two. A workaholic, Matthew literally worked every day as a young model.
Any free time he had was spent honing his sports skills in soccer, basketball, baseball, tennis,
swimming, and football.
Always determined to cultivate new hobbies and interests, Matthew has begun to pursue more
extreme sports such as skateboarding and rock-climbing. In sunny California, he’s been able to
engage in his latest passions: surfing, wake-boarding, and barefoot water-skiing. He continues to
practice dancing as well, with tap, jazz, hip-hop, and break dancing. Interested in all aspects of the
performing arts, Matthew is a member of the Theatre For A Difference Theatre Group, for which he
works sound and lighting and has managed two plays. He also assistant-teaches improv drama
classes for 6-12 year olds at the American National Academy in Studio City.
Matthew is an animal lover and cares for a collection of exotic pets. He lives with his mother and twin
older brothers, and also has an older sister who lives in Florida.
